I went back to the basics on this one.  Texture, shape, line, hue complementary and supplementary relationships, depth, and a focal point.  It's become so routine that I stopped and looked back to study previous paintings I'd made as well as other's paintings and wrote about how each painting focused on those topics.    I mostly focused on the color relationships in this artwork and layered and sanded down areas to reveal underlayers. 

I moved the painting around a lot- turned it 90 degrees, laid it flat, put it on the wall, turned different lights on and off- that was just for inspiration.  Once I saw a potential next step I just did it.  It was also something different for me because I'd never painted on a flat table.  My fiance made me a 40" table for Valentines Day because my neck hurts from studying and pencil drawing (and I don't have a slanted table).   It definitely brings a different viewpoint to a piece and I think those different view points make a difference- always learning something.
